The original bow coupling – designed by us, used worldwide.

At Straatman Dredging & Construction, we don’t just make bow couplings – we invented them! In our Van De Graaf days, we introduced the first bow coupling, which has since become the global standard.

Our bow coupling enables a quick and efficient connection between hopper dredgers and floating pipelines, facilitating smoother beach and land reclamation operations. With more than 175 bow couplings delivered worldwide, our design continues to set the standard in dredging.

We are proud of our latest projects, including a complete ø400 bow installation. Small but strong and another great piece of engineering.

Looking forward, we'll soon begin production on a ø650 bow installation for Jan De Nul, set for delivery in September 2025. We're also developing two additional bow couplings for the same client: a ø1000 and a ø900, both scheduled for delivery in April.

Just last week, we delivered a brand-new ø1000 bow coupling to DEME for their TSHD Pearl River - another strong, seamless connection for efficient dredging operations!
