Berthing project Calandkanaal

After a lot of hard work in the last months of last year, we are happy to inform you that we have completed the assembly and testing of the 24 ATEX and Safe Area solar systems for the expansion of berths 81 and 82 in the Calandkanaal, Port of Rotterdam. All systems were completely tested in our factory to ensure a smooth and efficient installation on site, coming in April 2022.

t has been an efficient process in which we have assembled and moved approximately 116000kg of equipment. Three systems remain at our factory to do long-term battery capacity testing. This way we make sure there will not be any surprises during the lifetime operation of the systems.

The total project consists of 24 Solar powered systems combined with quick release mooring hook units. These high-quality, smart products are part of the expansion and new berth construction in the Calandkanaal, at the Port of Rotterdam. The Solar powered systems and quick release hooks will be installed with load and vertical angle monitoring, as well as a full telemonitoring system to constantly monitor the system status. The Port of Rotterdam will therefore be able to perform live asset management, relieving pressure on preventive and subsequently corrective maintenance.
